Self Massage Techniques & Somatics

Learn how to massage yourself with yoga blocks, tennis balls, wooden dowels, and your own body. Kathy will lead you through basic Somatic Exercises and teach you how to relieve pain, release chronic muscle contraction, improve posture, warm up/ cool down from workouts, and retrain muscular patterns.

Using professional massage techniques, this class will give you the skills to relieve headaches, neck & low back pain, chronic tension, tight large muscle groups, postural alignment issues and carpal tunnel syndrome, increasing blood & lymph flow to bring an overall sense of relief to strained/ overworked muscles.

Great for students & athletes of all levels, Yoga Teachers & Massage Therapists. 2 CEUs available towards Yoga Alliance certifications.

Yoga Anatomy & the Endocrine System

An Overview of the Endocrine System and Human Physiology in Relationship to Our Yoga Practice

In the human body, our communication is a process in which a sender transmits signals to one or more receivers to control and coordinate actions. The endocrine system is primarily responsible for maintaining homeostasis in the body and uses chemical signaling as a method of communication. These signals are sent by the endocrine organs, which secrete chemicals (hormones) into the extracellular fluid. We will discuss this system of the body in more detail in this workshop to help you, as a student, dive deeper into the understanding of stress, metabolism, and also balance and WELL-BEING!
